Gold Milling Area
Newmont Boddington Gold is one of Australia’s largest gold producers. At full capacity it is expected to produce between 35-40 mtpa and have a mine life exceeding 20 years.
Scope of work
Supply and erection of the fi ne ore bin, structural, mechanical and piping (SMP) installation on the 8 cell screening building including feed conveyors, installation and commissioning of 4 x 15MW ball mills and SMP of the classifi cation area.
Additionally, the scope entailed the interconnecting conveyor systems from the crushing and stockpile areas, civil works, shop detailing, supply, fabrication, surface treatment and delivery to site of 4,600 tonnes of structural steel pipe and electrical racks.
Project Outcome (Timing)
Caiman originally mobilised to site in October 2007 and demobilised in November 2009.
Project Outcome (Budget)
Final fi gure represents a 65% increase in scope.
Project Outcome (Quality) All works are completed to Australian Standards.
